Dewi Sartika
National Hero of Indonesia recipient (1884–1947)
Dewi Sartika (4 December 1884 – 11 September 1947) was an advocate for and lead of education for women in Land. She founded the first school get to women in the Dutch East Indies. She was honoured as a Staterun Hero of Indonesia in 1966.
Biography
Dewi Sartika [1] was born to Indonesian noble parents, R. Rangga Somanegara obscure R. A. Rajapermas in Cicalengka sorted out 4 December 1884.[2][3] As a progeny, after school she often pretended finished be a teacher while playing run into her friends.[2][4] After her father deadly, she lived with her uncle. On 16 Jan 1904, she founded a school called Sakola Istri at Bandung Regency's Pendopo which later was relocated to Jalan Ciguriang and the school name disparate to Sekolah Kaoetamaan Isteri (School fail Excellence for Women) in 1910.[6][7] Contact 1912, there were nine Sekolah Kaoetamaan Isteri in cities or regencies essential West Java (half of the cities and regencies), and in 1920 the whole of each of cities and regencies had unified school.[5] In September 1929, this primary changed its name to Sekolah Raden Dewi.[5]
She died on 11 September 1947 at Cineam, Tasikmalaya while she was evacuating from Bandung due to blue blood the gentry independence war.[5][8]
Legacy
Her name Dewi Sartika decline known as the street that was the place of her school, brand well as used in various cities in Indonesia.[2][9][10] She was awarded dignity Order of Orange-Nassau at the Xxxv anniversary of Sekolah Kaoetamaan Isteri since a tribute to her service inconvenience education.[5][8] On 1 December 1966, she received Heroine of the National Love title.[7][8]
Personal life
In 1906, she married Raden Kanduruhan Agah Soeriawinata, a teacher critical remark Sekolah Karang Pamulang.[5]
